America was founded on the political system of free men representing the people in the communities and regions that were closest to them and sending those representatives to meet with other delegates to discuss the affairs of the original thirteen colonies. The majority of these early American politicians were landowners and businessmen that left their families and traveled to Philadelphia to take part in the first continental congress to decide the fate of the original thirteen colonies.

America was founded on the political system of free men representing the people in the communities and regions that were closest to them and sending those representatives to meet with other delegates to discuss the affairs of the original thirteen colonies. The majority of these early American politicians were landowners and businessmen that left their families and traveled to Philadelphia to take part in the first continental congress to decide the fate of the original thirteen colonies.
After the Revolutionary War the congress convened to establish the Constitution of the United States and define the government as three governing bodies with a system of checks and balances.
Today the government of the United States is still run under the direction of the three ruling bodies of the executive, legislative and judicial branches of the federal government that are still empowered by the people that elect the politicians into office for the governing of the people that they represent.
The political process begins with the backing of an interested person that is willing to make a stand on the issues and questions that they have a strong belief and opinion about. These people are passionate about the topics that are closest to them and are willing to make changes to policy in order to effect a change. When someone with a real passion for political issues is willing to take a stand and rally others to their cause in the process we refer to them as having leadership abilities and those are the people that we want serving America in public office.
Aside from throwing intellectual support behind these political leaders many people that want to see them succeed in being elected to office also donate money to their campaigns to help them in becoming known throughout the community and state as a person that cares about the issues that effect the daily lives of the people that live in the same area as they do. These people are often supported in their efforts to be elected as representatives of the house or the senate of their home state or even to the United States Senate if their influence over the opinions of others is great.
For the majority of people, holding public office is not something that they seek, but when they find a certain person that shares their common political values and interests they will pledge their support to helping that outstanding individual to gain a seat where they can do the most good for the people. Through campaign contributions and attending rallies on behalf of these heros of the republic the everyday person can give their support of the individual that is seeking office to benefit the entire population of the country.
