Even though it is about one year and half before the 2012 US elections take place, campaigns have already started gaining motion. The current president, Mr. Obama, will be seeking reelection with his Democratic Party while the Republicans want to see one of their own in state house. Political analysts have put forward different opinions about the reelection chances of Mr. Obama, but all are in unanimous agreement that he will face a very tough and stiff challenge than it was in 2008. His first challenge will be getting the Democrats nomination because most of the members and other supporters of that party are contemplating running against him. If he gets the Democrats nomination, his biggest challenge will be defeating the Republican candidate because the party has gained vast support and will use the failures of the Obama administration and his (sometimes questionable) character and personality to strengthen its support all over the United States. Mr. Obama made several promises in his 2008 campaigns, but some of them have been delivered as promised while others have been not delivered at all. His popularity has almost stagnated at 46% and it is early to judge whether he will make it or not this time round. Two days ago, the president visited the Facebook headquarters in a bid to reach out to the young voters who formed the majority of his supporters in 2008. He met with Mark Zuckerberg, the Facebook CEO and Sheryl Sandberg who is the COO. The president responded to various questions about the performance of his government because this forms the platform of his 2012 campaigns which may also be used by his opponents. He urged the young voters to double their numbers and vote for him in 2012. Several other candidates who are seeking nomination for the presidency like Mitt Romney and Tim Pawlenty have also started their campaigns on Facebook and other social networks where they intend to tap the youthful American voters.
"I am in the 2012 US presidential race Gary Johnson, the Former New Mexico Governor has declared Gary Johnson, who previously served as the New Mexico governor for two terms, has declared that he will contest the 2012 US elections and he will be seeking the Republican nomination. At the age of 58, he thinks he is the best candidate to reclaim the lost Republican glory in 2008 when the Republicans lost to the then Democratic candidate Barrack Obama who is now the president and is most likely to seek reelection through his democratic party. Mr. Obama is already facing challenges because he has not delivered most of what he promised in his 2008 election campaign. It must also be recalled that the Republicans are in control of the senate which is a signal that the Obama administration may not be enjoying adequate support all over the United States. Mr. Johnson made the statements at New Hampshire which is well known for taking very early Republican presidential nomination campaigns. He stated that he has all the qualifications, know how and the ability to defeat president Barrack Obama and become the 45th president of the United States. He is known for pushing for lower taxes and reduction of government spending when he was the governor for New Mexico and this may boost his prospects of getting the Republican nomination and also clinching the 2012 presidency which will be held on the November 6. Gary Johnson is famous for vetoing 750 legislation pieces and this forms the backbone of his campaign that Washington needs someone who will cut off the unnecessary spending by all means possible to save the American Taxpayers. He has criticized the Bush and Obama administrations spending and he promises that his government will do better in dealing with the increasing unemployment in the United States. Whichever candidate gets the Republican nomination, they will have to prove to the American voters that the party will improve the US image in the Middle East while at the same time protect Americans from any threats of attacks.
