Our world is surrounded by water. We have oceans on each end. There is the Atlantic Ocean on the east coast. The Gulf of Mexico lies on our southern coast and the Pacific Ocean on the west coast. There is also the Artic Ocean on the upper northern coast. We also have a lot of lakes, rivers, and creeks that make up our country. We use them every day and for many different things.

The latest race for the President of the United State has already been a long one and it is not nearly over yet. It seems so long ago when the candidates announced they would be running and in the beginning there were so many of them this time around. There were so many that it was really baffling when a person began to consider who they thought might make the best future president.

It would take an expert in the field to be able to give us an approximate estimate on how many American lives have been lost because of all the wars we have been involved in since the formation of our country. It would be a very large number of lives to say the least. We have fought some wars that we could not avoid and some wars that have been controversial to many of our citizens.

Almost two years ago when so many candidates announced they would run for president, there was much excitement in the air even then. Those first crowded debates were wrought with various opinions about what were the most important issues facing our country. In a matter of months the choice for a Republican candidate was picked as one by one the Republican runners were eliminated.

There is a brand new topic on the political scene in the past few days. The subject of whether the Republican vice presidential candidate, Sarah Palin, is a good choice or not because of certain circumstances that have nothing to do with her ability to fill the job offered to her if she is elected along with John McCain. Or does it? This is going to be a closely debated topic because it is not about her qualifications for the job, but whether she should be seeking the job.

No one can say that saw the Democratic convention that it was not a spirit filled, upbeat event. There were several well liked headlining speech givers such as Ted Kennedy, Hilary Clinton, Bill Clinton, and even the wife of Obama, Michelle, gave a speech that was great by the standards of anyone. The Democratic convention appeared to go off without a hitch that was noticeable and it was said by many to be an overall success.
