Vickers, founded initially as Vickers Company in 1828, was a British manufacturer of military equipment, traditionally based in Barrow-in-Furness. The name Vickers remained until the twentieth century, despite a series of changes and mergers. Vickers is now part of BAE Systems. The Vickers Company was founded in Sheffield, England, as a steel foundry by Edward Vickers and his stepfather George Naylor in 1828.

Secularism is the concept that government or other entities should exist separately from religion and/or religious beliefs.
